Robert Half Finance & Accounting is currently recruiting a Fund Finance Manager for an investment company based in the region of Antwerp.


Our client is a leading international investment company with focus on emerging markets.

A highly visible and important member of the Finance team, the Fund Finance Manager will be responsible for all financial aspects of the fund management company and a substantial part of the portfolio of funds. In addition, she/he will support business initiatives to expand above and beyond the current business model. She/he will report to the COO and work closely with the management team.

Financial controlling of fund management company

  • Delivers reliable quarterly reporting under BGAAP:
    • Consolidates foreign subsidiaries and delivers cash flow and P&L analysis, identifying focus areas
    • Performs deep dive analysis on focus areas, identifying together with the business action points & key metrics
    • Follows through on action points & key metrics with business owners
    • Presents and articulates the message behind the numbers and explains trends and variances versus plan in key metrics
  • Owns planning infrastructure and process (budgets, forecasts & stress testing)
    • Develops financial models and translates results into business insights
    • Supports the management team in setting financial targets
    • Identifies key metrics and capital allocation strategy to meet financial targets
    • Provides analytics to the management team to support the decision-making process
    • Prepares presentations of financial plan (narrative)
  • Main point of contact with auditors, regulators, rating agencies, investors and market researchers
  • Builds a true business partnership as the Finance key point of contact with management teams and key internal and external stakeholders
  • Manages team of accountant & treasurer (internal) and custodian and administrator (external)
  • Approves and monitors operational expenditures of the business unit

Financial management of investment funds

  • Manages investment funds from a financial perspective
  • Analyses & monitors of the equity and loan investment portfolio
  • Reports fund performance (BE GAAP and IFRS): quarterly reports + annual reports + BE prospectus
  • Owns planning infrastructure and process (budgets, forecasts & stress testing) of the investment funds
  • Persents to various internal and external boards & stakeholders
  • Participates in Due Diligence processes
  • Member of the equity Valuation Committee

Project management

  • Identifies key improvement opportunities and leads key financial and IT projects
  • Supports and initiates business process improvements (such as ad hoc taskforces)
  • Performs valuation of PE investments

The requested qualifications for this job include:

Experience

  • University/Master's degree with focus on finance (incl. IFRS/BGAAP, consolidation of subsidiaries, investment analysis and corporate finance)
  • Required experience for the job: 5+ years relevant experience as Auditor and/or Financial/Business Controller, or similar
  • Experience in financial reporting and analysis
  • Experience of financial reporting systems and expertise in Excel
  • Experience with TM1 (IBM-Cognos) or Tableau is an extra asset
