For our client, Robert Half is looking for a Finance Controller (m/f).


Our client is a well-known industrial company. This company offers a stable position in a company that keeps growing.

  • Daily general accounting and monthly closing activities (25%)
    • Assign roles and responsibilities within site finance team
    • Instruct and supervise booking activities according to monthly closing calendar
    • Ensure booking activities are applied according to (group) policies
    • Ensure services provider is effectively, timely and accurately delivering transactional activities
    • Identify wastes and optimize processes as necessary
    • Review, approve, and submit monthly financials
  • Internal Control responsibilities (15%)
    • Liaise with (group/regional, country/site) internal control to:
      • Document and sign on quarterly SOX certifications
      • Review and sign on controls framework
      • Identify, document, and define actions for control deficiencies
      • Coordinate internal audits
  • Reporting activities (budget and forecasts) (20%)
    • Coordinate with all on-site functions/departments to collect, consolidate and report budget & forecast
    • Identify process improvement opportunities and optimize reporting process as necessary
  • Local legal requirements including statutory financial statements (20%)
    • Supervise preparation of statutory financial statements (and quarterly interim financial statements
    • Prepare (or supervise preparation of) US GAAP to Local GAAP bridge
    • Coordinate external statutory audits
    • Coordinate agreed upon procedures
    • Coordinate with legal to document the annual approval of statutory financial statements
  • Tax activities (15%)
    • Quarterly prepare supporting documentation of US tax accounting, forecasting and reporting GAAP & TAX differences
    • Quarterly sign on US tax reporting
    • Review and sign on monthly/annual VAT declarations (prepared by services provider)
    • Review and sign on annual corporate income tax return (prepared by services provider)
  • Legal and finance representation for the legal entity (5%)
    • Approve purchase requests, appropriation requests, payments as per delegation of authorities
    • Participate to quarterly works council as Finance representative of the legal entity
    • Participate to weekly site administrative meeting as Finance representative of the legal entity
    • Attend to board of managers
    • Other local representations

  • Degree in Finance/Accounting
  • Professional accounting certification
  • At least 7-10 years of progressive management leadership in a similar position
  • Strong knowledge of LUX GAAP and LUX tax regulation
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP
  • Knowledge of SAP (FI/CO/MM/SD)
  • Fluent in English
  • Proven record of being a business partner
  • A hands-on style and "whatever it takes" attitude
  • Proven record of delivering on continuous improvement
  • Experience in leading change management
