Robert Half is currently looking for a (m/f) Assistant Accounting Manager for one of our clients.


Our client, active in the FMCG sector is based in Brussels.

Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Assistant Accounting Manager will have following responsibilities:

  • Accounting Operations : Ensure exhaustiveness, on time, compliance and accuracy of : Salary postings, Fixed assets sub ledger, Stock sub ledger, Equity, Accruals; Ensure postings are in line with local regulations, requirements & group policies; Manual re-invoicing of general expenses; Prepare statutory and other audits; Provide necessary support to NBS on group reporting
  • PEC activities : Organization of the closing process; Actively contributes to month end closing of accounting operations; Ensure accurate and timely reconciliation of general accounts; Provide necessary support to NBS on group reporting (CACT, NNBREC); Coordinate PEC meeting and follow-up of action planning
  • NBS collaboration : sense check on work performance : Ensure quality and timeliness of services provided by NBS L'viv Team in line with SLA; Negotiate & Maintain (Manager)Service Level Agreements & Manage KPIs; Design controls to be performed; Inform of local legislation or business requirements changes; Maintain and communicate policies & procedures to NBS; Agree Catalogue of Reports required from NBS and the frequency of the Reports; Define escalation process and answer NBS inquiries
  • Compliance : Ensure compliance to Internal control framework; Contribute to bring ICSAT to a min level 3
  • Ensure compliance to legal / fiscal obligations : statutory accounts; ISOC Tax returns including calculation of rejected expenses; Surveys (National Bank, etc.)
  • Maintenance of Article master data : Ensure timely, compliant and accurate article (financial part) creation respecting SOD and accounting principles. Provide required data to NBS
  • Operational Excellence : Maintain responsibility related policies, procedures and drive continuous process improvements: actively contribute to PEC continuous improvement meetings & propose and implement process & control improvement initiatives; Coordinate business projects as Responsible for above mentioned accounting operations and as Deputy for the Accounting manager
  • Back up : Ensure rock solid cross-functional BNL backup system

The requested qualifications for the position of Assistant Accounting Manager include:

  • Bachelor in accounting or experience in general and analytical accounting
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in Accounting
  • Fluent in Dutch, French and English
  • Change management, people management experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Advanced excel skills (macro is a plus) and office literate
  • Good organizational and planning skills
  • Open-minded, service oriented & strong collaboration skills
  • Rigorous, accurate & reliable

  • Able to work in a fast paced environment
  • Experience with statutory and tax obligations in Luxembourg is a plus
